Work Safely in the Cloud with Chrome Enterprise
Chrome enterprise provides a full package for teachers to instruct their class of students. All while ensuring students safety measures through content filtering, keyword detection, violation alerts for serious incidents, and AI image analysis. Alerts can also be raised for inappropriate pictures captured from keyword violation logs. Teachers can decide what websites students can access during class by blocking, whitelisting or allow only features.
Google Classroom
Student safety is key in all schools. As the driving force behind online student safety, Senso’s innovative software protects K-12 users using school-owned devices. Whether they are in school or learning from home. Senso proactively monitors and indicates to relevant staff, any users who may be vulnerable or at risk, who may pose a risk to others and exhibit inappropriate, off-task or harmful behaviour. Google classroom integration fits perfectly with our software, and it enables us to support your schools’ devices on and off campus.
Single sign on allows users to sign into a device with the same authentication mechanisms that you use within the rest of your organization. Once signed in, classroom groups made by teachers enable Senso to pull that information over, and it sits in the classes area so that teachers can see the students they need to see. List view showcases which Chromebooks are on, the users name and site they’ve been assigned to.
Often Asked Questions
We are often asked questions such as do you support full screen? Can Senso Chrome device host names? So here is a brief break down on some of our most common asked questions;
We support full screen. However, we cannot take control of the device like we do when using Windows due to limitations put on us by Google. With a wide variety of tools available that can take over the Chrome devices, you aren’t losing any functionality with managing these devices remotely. Our launch website tool can be used to easily launch Chrome Remote Desktop on those devices and is widely used by our customers to help remotely support their users.
The Access module is a fantastic safeguarding solution. You can block, whitelist or allow only so you have control over what is able to be accessed by your students. You can schedule the blocking of set URL’s so that they are only blocked during that specific class time.
Live chat
Live chat – Teachers can chat back and forth with their students. Teachers can instigate chats to students, but this is teacher to student only. This feature is ideal during class to praise a student for their good work; or equally asking them to stop what they are doing and get back on track with the task at hand. It allows for teachers to communicate with students without causing disruption to the rest of the class.
Lock screen
Lock screen allowing for classroom management. This feature enables teachers to regain attention from students should they need to talk or present to the class. Students can’t type or do anything on the chrome books during this time. Only once the teacher takes lock screen off can the students continue using their devices.
Keyword Violations - Web Content Filtering
Logging in the admin centre, this is the second part to Senso’s safeguarding element. Raising keyword violations. When violations get logged it grabs a screenshot stating username, phrase and status.
AI image analysis scans the images sent within the chat environment. If a student sends an inappropriate message or image to another student, our software will scan and flag it immediately if it violates one of the keyword libraries.
Critical words such as ‘suicide’ raises an email alert to whoever is assigned as the port of call within your school. This could be the principle or IT support staff. This then allows them to deal with it instantly.
Web content filtering. Very much like our ‘Access’ feature but Web Content Filtering allows for blocking pre-set categories of web URLS. For example, categories like gambling, pornography and violence are included in this feature to ensure nothing inappropriate can be accessed by your students.
